These vessels are generally small, around 10 to 15 metres long, with a crew of 2 to 4 persons. They generally spend 2 to 5 days fishing in waters within 50 nautical miles of shore, at depths of up to 120 metres. They fish for inshore species such as Snapper, John Dory, Gurnard, Trevelly and Tarakihi, which are then land chilled and readied for export or local sale. Simunovich Fisheries has four small Ice Boats. Ana, Brac, Donna Maria, and Trinity I, and one large (33 metre) Ice Boat, the Ocean Fresh.
